Over the Hills and Through the Woods

Russel’s Run is a short trail but puts you deep in the West Virginia Woods. Having grown up here, I’ve always loved the feel of being amongst the trees. There’s just something about being surrounded by the trees and all that life that really makes it peaceful. If you look for any excuse to escape into the forest or, better yet, if you haven’t spent much time in the east, this would be a trail to hit.

Enjoy the Scenery

The main thing this trail has is scenery. The forest if pretty dense, with branches making the trail fairly tight in spots. The last time I was there was in the fall and the changing leaves were absolutely gorgeous. If you’re all about crazy obstacles or mud, you won’t get much of that here. Visit when you want a relaxing drive in a beautiful setting.
